Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking. I’ve learned that asking questions isn’t a sign of weakness; rather, it demonstrates curiosity, engagement and intelligence."

Stephen Hawking Says The Human Race Has No Future If It Doesn't Go To Space

Some believe that our breaths are numbered, but according to Stephen Hawking, so are our days on earth.
Just of late we heard about the huge plans that Elon Musk has for us, and now, Hawking is kind of validating the research that could change the face of life on earth.
According to Professor Hawking, science is most likely to produce an advancement which will wipe out our existence from the earth within 1,000 - 10,000 years.

'I believe that life on Earth is at an ever-increasing risk of being wiped out by a disaster, such as a sudden nuclear war, a genetically engineered virus, or other dangers,' he said.
He also says that human race will have no future if it doesn’t go to space.
In his book "How to make a spaceship” he has given detailed answers to all such questions and emphasised on the idea of why it is necessary for mankind to start considering colonisation on other planets.

In a lecture earlier this year, the professor spoke about black holes and outer space. There, when asked about the end of the world, he said, we’re most likely to face a challenge from the progress that technology makes.
The threat includes nuclear war, catastrophic global warming and genetically engineered viruses.
'We are not going to stop making progress, or reverse it, so we must recognise the dangers and control them,' he said.

According to him, to colonise other planets may take more than a century and therefore he directs us, to be very careful during this period. Professor Hawking has also previously singled out the risk of artificial intelligence (AI) becoming powerful enough to cause the downfall of humanity.
Adding to the aforementioned, Elon Musk has just recently announced his plans of taking people to Mars, starting early-mid-2020s.
On Tuesday, Elon publicised the idea about reaching out when Earth and Mars are perfectly aligned and are in a favourable position. Musk said that we can fly every 26 months or so, with the first crew launching in the year 2024.
