Instagram Is Finally Letting You Zoom In on Videos and Photos—Here’s How to Do It

It's been a big year for Instagram. In the last twelve months, the photo-sharing service began supporting horizontal and vertical photos, debuted a bold new logo, and introduced the Instagram Stories tool that allows users to post content that disappear within 24 hours (and also is basically an exact replica of Snapchat Stories). And now, Instagram is debuting yet another feature—one that users have always wanted: Zooming in on photos and videos.
Now when you try to show a smartphone-less parent a photo on Instagram, you no longer have to worry about said parent accidentally liking it, fruitlessly tapping on the screen trying to zoom in on an image that cannot be made larger. Thanks to this latest update—aptly called "Zoom"—a new pinch-to-zoom feature will allow users to do just that—pinch and zoom. With a little flick of thumb and index finger, users will be able to home in on the details of images and videos on their main feed, Explore tab, and individual profile pages.

Zoom is now available for iPhone users and is expected to be available for Android within the next few weeks.
